My name is XX, born in Hangzhou. I am supposed to get my undergraduate degree in school of XX, XX University majoring in XX. Mainly, my introduction shall cover three aspects.
First, when it comes to my study, it is through three years’ of hard work that I have built up a solid foundation of professional knowledge reflected not only by a decent ranking of 5% among 60 peers, but also by the fact that I take an active part in various contests ranging from English and mathematical modeling to physics. And luckily, my efforts in preparations for them also lead to some academic honors and awards. Say, these contests have expanded my knowledge, rather they have enhanced my comprehensive strength as well. Take mathematical modeling contest as an example. The contest usually lasts for three days. Two teammates and I must finish the work including data collecting, analyzing, modeling and paper writing. Since the time is limited and the work is fairly difficult and complex, we usually have to burn the night oil, thinking, programming and sometimes arguing 。Such experiences taught me how to communicate and cooperate with others. Meanwhile, my skills of data analysis, modeling and paper writing have been significantly improved
Second, I will talk about my scientific research experience. When I was sophomore, I entered my supervisor’s laboratory to get myself scientifically prepared. Later I participated in a project of Jin Hua science and technology plan focusing on detecting out Sudan red in chili powder with a fast and accurate way. Besides I also participated in a research of the effect of kinetin on quality and harvest date of loquat fruit, and this research paper has been published. I was the second author. Moreover, I have participated in a research of soluble solids and pH detection of red bayberry juice, of which the research paper has already submitted to the journal of Food Engineering 。 All these experiences remind me that theoretical principles and practical methods are the key to research activities.
Third, I will briefly describe my social activities. I joined in the student union of my institute, and I have worked in the propaganda department. Although tasks are as simple and easy as editing newspaper, drawing posters, what makes a difference is that I can meet and deal with different people. In addition, I also one of those enthusiastic about volunteer activities, for I believe what Winston Churchill once said, we make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
The above is a simple introduction of my college life. As for myself, in my spare time, I like climbing and running. Also I am what they would call bookworm, for people around me know how much I love reading. I always hold that what I’ve learned these years is from enough to carry on dependent research thus am eager for more.
